It's a little bit like early Fates Warning, if they were madly obsessed with pulp/sword&sorcery. This is not easy listening, but time spent focused on this album really pays. An underground classic already Favorite track: In Fate's Eye a King.

Hund Ov Doom! Classic Thrash worship that pays its dues in full. These dudes play hard. Fantastic lryics recall greats such as Blind Guardian and Hammer Fall. With Riffs that would make Hammet Blush.
Favorite track: The Sword's Lament.

froomp Really cool fucking album, a must have for USPM fans. Favorite track: In Fate's Eye a King.

The Artificer My personal favourite USPM album. Killer riffs are in no short supply, the drumming is ultra-clean and precise, the bass is well balanced and ferocious, and the vocal work is some of the most insane I've ever heard. Recommended for fans of: Liege Lord, Attacker, Omen, and Robert E. Howard. Favorite track: The Final Incantation / In the Dreaming City.

skyhawk1ws One of the best and most unique metal albums I've ever heard. Firmly rooted in American Power metal while reaching new heights in songwriting and riffs. Favorite track: In Fate's Eye a King.

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
